| November
at The Victoria…. |
|
It’s
beginning to feel a little more wintery outside
so you will be pleased to hear our chimneys are
swept and ready for action. We are even adding a
second wood burning stove to make sure the pub is
more inviting than ever. |
|
| We
are pleased to announce another night of live
music at The Victoria.
D’Artagnan will be playing an acoustic set
featuring popular cover versions from the past
and present on Thursday 26th November. Why not
book a table in the pub and enjoy a drink, live
music and great bar food. |
|
| November
heralds a string of England rugby internationals
at Twickenham. We have hotel rooms available if
you are thinking of visiting London for any of
the games and don’t forget to book a pre
match brunch at The Victoria. We can help with
taxis to the ground too. |
|
Last
New Year’s Eve was a fabulous occasion at
The Victoria and this year we are building on
that success. 100 tickets are available for the
party. As well as live music and a midnight countdown
we will have a champagne bar, an oyster bar, a
charcuterie table and a giant cheeseboard as well
as 5 rounds of hot tasting dishes from the kitchen.
Tickets are on sale now – simply call 020
8876 4238 or email - bookings@thevictoria.net |

| Finally
a word on Christmas...Lunch on Christmas Day is
booking up fast so hurry if you want us to roast
your turkey! You may already have your Christmas
day organised but don’t forget we are open
right through the holiday period. |
|
| Notes
from the kitchen |
|
| This
is a very good time of year to showcase the best
of British ingredients. In fact right now we have
one dish that could be hijacked by the UK tourist
associations PR men! |
|
| Roasted
Pheasant shot somewhere around Sussex served with
a light game broth featuring Brussel tops - grown
in Surrey
Sheep’s foot mushrooms - gathered in Scotland
Smoked Cumberland sausage
Baby leeks grown in Norfolk
And all cooked right here in Sheen! |
|
| We
recently submitted a recipe for inclusion in a
magazine produced by the RSPCA’s Freedom
Foods campaign. We have a bundle of free copies
here so do pop in and pick one up. The campaign
centres on the provenance of meat and fish served
in British restaurants and is called JUST ASK.
|
|
| The
idea is to encourage customers to enquire where
the products on the menu were reared and farmed.
The campaign kicks off with eggs. |
|
| A
shocking 80% of restaurants use eggs from caged
hens whilst only 20% of retail eggs are from caged
hens. All our eggs are from UN-CAGED hens –
but feel free to come in and ask anyway!! |
|
| |
|
All our Christmas opening times can be found here
and don’t forget that this New Years Eve
is set to be even bigger and better than ever
before! |
|
| Bon appétit |
