Welcome
to the Victoria’s March news letter….looks
like we have a busy month ahead! |
|
|
What’s on this
month at The Victoria?
|
|
The
big event in March is of course Mothering Sunday
on March 14th – We are already filling up
the reservation book, so do call the team on 0208
876 4238 if you wish to reserve a table. |
|
| Check
out the menu on our events page, here.
|
|
| It’s
worth noting that we are open on Sundays right
through to 8 pm so if mum enjoys a lie in.... |
|
| Cut
price meal anyone...? |
|
|
Over the past year we have been offering an Economy
Gastronomy budget lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays.
This has proved really popular so we plan to develop
the idea further. |
|
| From Monday March
1st we will be offering a choice of two courses
for just £12.50 every weekday lunch time
and between 6pm and 7.30pm every weekday evening. |
|
| This represents
real value so do come in and give it a try –
if it works we will extend the offer through to
April. Check out our very first
set menu here - and don't hesitate
to contact us on a Monday morning to check what's
on offer for the week. |
|
| Thinking
ahead ... Easter at The Victoria |
| |
|
Ok,
so like us, you may feel that we’ve only
just got Christmas out the way but it is just
a few short weeks until Easter - last year we
were incredibly busy over the Easter period so
we thought we’d give our valued Newsletter
readers the ‘heads up’ nice and early: |
|
We
will be open for Lunch and dinner as normal on
Good Friday
We start early on Easter Saturday
with Brunch from 8.30 until 3pm. Our A la carte
menu is available as normal from 6.00pm until
10.30pm.
On Easter Sunday we start at
midday and go right through until 8.00pm with
roast beef on the menu among other Easter treats.
Easter Monday follows a similar
pattern. Lunch kicks off at 12.00pm and last orders
for food are at 8.00pm. |

| Good
Food Guide Restaurant of the Year |
|
Now we need
a favour…..Nominations for The Good
Food Guide Restaurant of the Year Award
are being collected from the 1st of March to the
21st of April.
You know what’s coming...!

| Notes
from the Kitchen |
|
|
Isn’t Spring meant to start soon? |
|
| As I write this,
it is cold, wet and gloomy outside and spring
seems a long way away. The good news is that we
have the perfect menu for the time of year. One
of our big hitters this month has been our homemade
salt beef brisket which we boil and serve with
a parsley crust. Sticky toffee pudding has also
been a big success. |
|
|
We have also started making our own bacon and
hanging our own cured hams which should be ready
soon so look out for those on the menu. Look out
too for the new Market Kitchen cook book in which
we feature alongside other top UK gastro pubs. |
|
|
Talking of Gastro pubs…… March 1st-7th
is National Pie Week - this is obviously a very
serious affair and we will be marking the occasion
with our own contribution. Pop up and enjoy a
chicken, ham hock and leek pie for lunch or supper
during the week. |
|
|
Finally before I go, I shall divulge some secret
information…..This year see’s the
launch of The Richmond Food and Drink Festival
– this will be a week long celebration of
all things edible starting on 1st June. |
|
|
I am proud to be a patron for the event which
I think will really showcase Richmond and the
surrounding area. |
|
|
Potential supporters, helpers and indeed sponsors
are all welcome to pop in to the Victoria for
a beer and hear more about what will, I’m
sure, become a major annual local event. |
|
Bon appétit |
