About Us
The Victoria was probably built sometime between 1845 and 1855 when East Sheen consisted mainly of 3 large estates. Most of the customers at that time would have been people from ‘down stairs’ – butlers, footmen and coachmen. The first named landlord was Mr Bell registered in 1855.
We first viewed The Victoria back in 2007 and knew straight away that it had great potential to be a top local Gastro pub. Once we had purchased the site it was ‘all hands on deck’ in a bid to get the place refurbished and open for business as quickly as possible.
The Victoria had operated as a restaurant for a few years and as such the bar had been removed and the whole floor plan was laid up for dining only. We were keen to take it back to its original pub status and so we had the bar reinstalled exactly where it would have stood back in the days of Mr Bell. We also made major changes to the décor and furniture aiming to create a really relaxed pub environment, using the conservatory as our main dining area.
The Victoria also has 7 hotel rooms, popular with business people, those visiting London as well as local events at nearby Twickenham, Kew Gardens, Hampton Court and Wimbledon.
